When someone asks me where PRASKA's product ideas come from, I always give the same answer.
Not from catalogues. Not from trends. Not from the internet.
They come from my cattery, every single day.
I've been watching pedigree cats for more than 14 years. I see how they rest, how they raise kittens, how they resolve conflicts, how they choose where to sleep, and which products they genuinely accept.
It's thanks to them that I've learned things I never found in any book.
Over the years, I've seen again and again that cats can't be won over by an attractive-looking product.
If a bed is uncomfortable, too small, or badly shaped, a cat will simply choose somewhere else. Even if that's an ordinary cardboard box.
That's why, when designing, I always think first about whether a cat will want to come back to a product every day. Only afterwards do I think about how it looks.
There's no room for guesswork in my cattery.
Every new product goes to the cats first. I don't judge it by photos. I watch behaviour. Does the cat come back? Does it sleep in it every day? Does it choose it over other spots?
If the answer is "no", I go back to the drawing board.
Over the years I've noticed a pattern. If a cat can choose between a bed on the floor and a comfortable spot up high, it very often chooses height.
Not because it's fleeing anything. Because it can calmly watch its surroundings.
It's exactly this observation that gave rise to PRASKA's first wall systems.
There's no such thing as a product that's perfect for every cat.
In my own cattery, some cats love dens. Others choose open beds. Some sleep up high. Others prefer a windowsill.
That's why I design products so a cat has a choice. Because it knows best what it needs.
One of the first things Maine Coons taught me is that a cat won't accept an unstable piece of furniture.
If a shelf flexes, creaks, or moves during a jump, it very often just stops using it.
That's exactly why I pay such close attention to construction and mounting method.
Over years of observation, I've noticed that a cat needs more than a bowl and a bed every single day.
It needs to climb. Watch. Scratch. Hunt. Hide. Rest.
That's why, when I design any new product, I ask myself one question: will this design let a cat behave naturally?
I can't remember a single design that came about because I sat down at a computer and decided to invent something.
Most ideas appeared during everyday life with cats. Sometimes it was enough to notice that they all chose the same spot, or used a product completely differently from how I'd planned.
It's exactly those moments that point me towards the next solution.
Every new model goes through many changes.
I test it in my own cattery first. It then goes to breeders who work with PRASKA. Only after weeks of observation and adjustments does it go on sale.
That's exactly why I know we're not selling random products.
Over the years I've become convinced that a cat doesn't need ten random accessories.
A few well-planned spots that meet its natural needs work far better.
A well-designed wall, a comfortable bed and the right scratcher can change a cat's day-to-day life more than a lot of random purchases.
After more than 14 years running a cattery, cats still surprise me sometimes.
And that's exactly why PRASKA keeps evolving. Every new product is the result of further observation, conversations with breeders, and weeks of testing.
I believe the best designs aren't created by trying to predict a cat's behaviour. They're created by watching it closely.
In more than 14 years, cats have taught me one thing.
It's never worth designing products purely for people. You have to understand the cat first. Only then does the design come.
That's exactly the principle that's guided PRASKA's direction from the very beginning.
