PRASKA cat beds
A cat bed is somewhere your cat comes back to every day. Cats sleep 14-16 hours a day - the quality of that bed directly affects their rest, temperature regulation, and sense of security. At PRASKA, we design beds based on more than 14 years of observing pedigree cats in a breeding cattery. Every model is hand-sewn in Poland from certified upholstery fabric resistant to pilling and abrasion, filled with thick silicone fiberfill that won't flatten even after repeated washing at 86°F (30°C).
Which bed should you choose for your cat?
Cats rest in different ways. Some curl up into a ball, others stretch out to their full length, and others tuck their nose under their belly. That's why PRASKA beds come in several forms, each suited to a different way of resting.
- Stable nests (models AURA, ORBIT, NEST, SAD, FOREST, GARDEN, AQUA) are open beds with raised edges that give a cat a sense of shelter without closing them in completely. The edges do double duty - they steady a cat's body during sleep and act as a headrest. It's the most commonly chosen bed style in our range, available in sizes from 20 × 14 in to 29.5 × 14 in (50 × 35 cm to 75 × 35 cm).
- 2-in-1 nests (LUSSY, PUFFY, NUBBY, CLOUD) can be flipped over and used as a flat mat. They work well for cats whose preferences shift with the temperature - curling up in the nest on cooler days, stretching out on the flat side when it's warmer.
- Poufs and anti-stress rings are soft, frameless beds that a cat sinks into with their whole body. Fabric contact across a larger area of the body has a calming effect on cats that are sensitive to stimulation.
- Tunnel-dens (the COCO model) combine a bed with a hiding place. The cat goes inside and rests in an enclosed, warm space. They work well for cats that naturally seek out closed-in places to sleep.
- Windowsill beds (the PARAPET model) fit the width of your windowsill and let a cat rest by the window - a spot many cats choose for themselves anyway, for the light and the view outside.
- The HUGO bed for large cats (25.6 × 17.7 in / 65 × 45 cm) is designed with Maine Coons and other breeds over 18 lbs (8 kg) in mind.
Why do PRASKA beds have removable cushions?
From experience as a breeder, I know that a bed needs washing often - fur, dirt from paws, and a cat's natural secretions build up on the fabric every day. Washing a whole bed takes time and wears it out faster. That's why every PRASKA bed has a removable cushion you can wash separately at 86°F (30°C). You can also order a spare cushion, so one is in the wash while the other stays on the bed.
Where should you put the bed?
A cat chooses its own sleeping spot and returns to it as part of its daily routine. A bed placed where the cat already sleeps - on a windowsill, next to the sofa, on a shelf - has a much better chance of being accepted than one placed somewhere the owner has chosen. Once a bed is accepted, it's best not to move it.
PRASKA beds also fit our wall shelves and tree scratching posts - nests in 20 × 14 in, 23.6 × 12.6 in, and 29.5 × 14 in (50 × 35 cm, 60 × 32 cm, and 75 × 35 cm) mount directly onto shelves and platforms, creating a resting spot up high.
Which cat bed should I choose?
It depends on how your cat rests. Cats that curl into a ball do well in nests with raised edges. Cats that stretch out on their side prefer flat mats or 2-in-1 nests. Cats that seek out closed spaces choose the COCO tunnel-den or a cave or house.
How do I size a cat bed?
Your cat should fit comfortably and be able to change position while sleeping. For cats up to 11 lbs (5 kg), 20 × 14 in (50 × 35 cm) nests work well. For cats 11-18 lbs (5-8 kg), go for 23.6 × 12.6 in or 29.5 × 14 in (60 × 32 cm or 75 × 35 cm). For Maine Coons and other large breeds, the HUGO bed at 25.6 × 17.7 in (65 × 45 cm).
Can PRASKA beds be washed?
Yes. The removable cushion can be washed at 86°F (30°C). The silicone fiberfill doesn't flatten after washing. The bed itself can also be washed, but thanks to the removable cushion, there's no need to for everyday care.
How is a PRASKA bed different from beds you'd find in a store?
PRASKA beds are hand-sewn in Poland from certified upholstery fabric resistant to pilling. Filled with thick silicone fiberfill, they keep their shape after repeated washing. Every bed has a removable cushion and can be color-matched to your interior.
Can I choose the color of the bed?
Yes. PRASKA beds are available in color collections: FOREST, GARDEN, LOVE, AQUA, GOODY, PATCHWORK, and ORCHARD. At order stage, you choose the fabric and faux fur color so the bed matches your interior.
Do the nests fit PRASKA wall shelves?
Yes. Nests in 20 × 14 in, 23.6 × 12.6 in, and 29.5 × 14 in (50 × 35 cm, 60 × 32 cm, and 75 × 35 cm) mount onto wall shelves and tree platforms. They create a resting spot up high that cats readily choose.
