What counts as a replacement part

On PRASKA pieces the soft layers and the scratching surfaces come off separately. What wears down is the felt, the cover and the cushion, not the plywood structure.

So the replacement parts for cat trees are chiefly felt, a bed, a replacement cushion and a cover. You buy them one at a time, for the piece you already own.

Scratching felt

Felt comes in two forms, depending on where it goes: self-adhesive and sewn. Flat surfaces, meaning platforms, shelves, steps, trunks and modular panels, take self-adhesive felt. Ramps take double-sided felt, doubled and sewn along both sides.

Every piece is cut for one specific element: 27.6 × 4.3 in (70 × 11 cm) for the QUEEN box, 7.9 × 9.1 in (20 × 23 cm) for the STEP shelf, 13.8 × 9.1 in (35 × 23 cm) for the OLIWKA (olive) platform and branch, 11.8 × 7.9 in (30 × 20 cm) for STEP OVAL, 29.5 × 13.8 in (75 × 35 cm) for the OVALSLEEP shelf, 47.2 × 12.6 in (120 × 32 cm) for the large trunk and 37.8 × 8.7 in (96 × 22 cm) for the small one. Separate pieces exist for the KŁADKA (footbridge), for the wall mounted leaf, for the KOKARDKA (bow) scratching post and for BABYSITTER.

Replacing it works like this: peel the worn piece off without damaging the surface underneath, clean and dry that surface, remove adhesive residue with a mild detergent and water, then press the new felt down evenly across the whole area.

Replacement cushions, covers and mats

A replacement cushion is the insert for a bed or a cat cave on its own. The ANANAS (pineapple) cushion fits beds and caves from 15.7 to 27.6 in (40 to 70 cm) across, in sizes 15.7, 17.7, 19.7, 23.6 and 27.6 in (40, 45, 50, 60 and 70 cm), about 1.6 in (4 cm) thick. The middle layer is a silicone wadding made specially for PRASKA, the fur is 100% polyester. Machine washable at 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm, no chlorine.

Beyond that there are rectangular cushions of 19.7 × 13.8 in (50 × 35 cm), 23.6 × 12.6 in (60 × 32 cm) and 29.5 × 13.8 in (75 × 35 cm), and the FUR, FUR OVAL and PUFFY cushions. The 23.6 × 12.6 in (60 × 32 cm) ones are matched to the OLIWKA and STOKROTKA (daisy) nests.

A cover comes off for washing and goes back on. The cover for the CHMURA (cloud) bed is a circle of 25.6 in (65 cm) or 33.5 in (85 cm) across and 7.1 in (18 cm) thick, 100% polyester. The zipper is sewn into the underside and hidden; you take the insert out before washing and put it back afterward. Machine washable at 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm, no bleach. There are also covers for the low and the high anti-stress pouf.

The waterproof mats and the plexiglass inserts are cut to specific queening boxes and caves. We keep them in a separate section, with the protective accessories.

The OPONKA and ANANAS beds with a hook-and-loop base

OPONKA RZEP is a ring bed that stays put without any hardware. Its underside is a fabric with hook-and-loop properties, so the bed does not slide off a platform or a shelf.

Diameters: 15.7, 17.7, 19.7, 21.7, 23.6 and 25.6 in (40, 45, 50, 55, 60 and 65 cm), with a tolerance of ±0.6 in (±1.5 cm). The filling is a silicone wadding made to order for PRASKA, the fur is 100% polyester. Machine washable at 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm, no fabric softener. The bed fits a household machine and dries quickly.

OPONKA RZEP comes in a fur version and a fabric version. We shaped it so that it also sits on platforms and shelves from other makers. Next to it stands GNIAZDKO ANANAS RZEP NISKIE, the low nest with the same base, with a choice of size and fabric.

PRASKA HOME bags and mats

How does this category differ from its subsections?

Can I buy the felt or the bed on its own?

Yes, and that is the point of this category. You can buy a spare cat bed or felt pad on its own, and the same goes for a nest, a replacement cushion, a cover and a mat. You replace the worn layer without buying a new piece of furniture.

How do I choose the right size of replacement part?

By the measurement of the element it sits on, or by the model name. Felt is cut for one specific platform, shelf or step. Beds and cushions carry the size in the name, for example 19.7 × 13.8 in (50 × 35 cm) or 29.5 × 13.8 in (75 × 35 cm). The ANANAS cushion is chosen by the diameter of the bed: 15.7, 17.7, 19.7, 23.6 or 27.6 in (40, 45, 50, 60 or 70 cm). If you are not sure, write to us before you order.

What temperature do the cushions, covers and beds wash at?

Up to 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm. Do not tumble dry, do not iron. Do not wash the CHMURA cover with the insert inside: take the insert out through the zipper in the underside and put it back after washing. The waterproof mat for a queening box washes at 104 °F (40 °C), spin up to 1000 rpm.

Will these parts fit another maker's furniture?

It depends on the part. Felt and tie-on beds are matched to PRASKA dimensions and hardware, so they will not usually fit a structure from another brand. OPONKA RZEP is the exception: it rests on a platform or a shelf with no hardware and was designed to sit on furniture from other makers as well.
