A replacement cover for your cat tree doesn't have to mean buying a new one. A plywood or solid wood structure lasts for years - it's the textiles that wear out: beds go flat, hammocks stretch, mats lose their color, and cushions flatten after repeated washing. At PRASKA, we sew covers, beds, hammocks, and mats fitted to other manufacturers' scratching posts - working from your measurements or photos, we prepare a solution that fits your specific model. Every cover is hand-sewn in Poland from the same certified upholstery fabric and premium faux fur we use in PRASKA's own products.
Why replace the textiles instead of the whole scratching post?
A scratching post your cat uses every day wears out mainly on its textile surfaces. The bed loses its springiness, the hammock stretches, and the fabric on the platform wears thin and starts to pill. But the structure itself - the posts, the plywood platforms, the base - is usually still solid and functional.
Replacing the whole scratching post just because the textiles are worn out isn't necessary. It's also stressful for your cat - a new scratching post has a different smell, a different shape, and needs to be accepted all over again, which can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks. Replacing just the textiles keeps the structure your cat is used to, while restoring comfort and good looks.
From my experience as a breeder, I know cats accept a refreshed scratching post with new covers faster than an entirely new piece of furniture. The structure and the smell stay familiar - only the surface the cat lies and rests on changes.
Which scratching post covers do we make?
The range includes ready-made products in popular sizes, as well as made-to-measure sewing for a specific scratching post model.
PIK velcro mats (round, square, rectangular) are flat mats fixed to scratching post platforms with velcro. Available in upholstery fabric or premium faux fur. The velcro stops the mat shifting during use - your cat jumps on and lands on a stable surface. Sizes range from standard (fitted to popular scratching post models) to made-to-measure.
Velcro beds (GNIAZDKO ANANAS RZEP, GNIAZDKO FUR RZEP, OPONKA FUR RZEP, ELIPSA FUR RZEP, NUBBY RZEP) are raised-edge beds with velcro on the underside. They fix onto the platforms of other brands' scratching posts. They give your cat a comfortable resting spot up high, with support and a sense of shelter.
Tunnel hammocks (23.6×13.8 in, 25.2×17.3 in, 28.3×17.7 in, 29.5×13.8 in / 60×35 cm, 64×44 cm, 72×45 cm, 75×35 cm) are hammocks sewn to fit other brands' scratching posts, fitted using tunnels that the posts thread through. Available in upholstery fabric or premium faux fur.
Full bed sets for a scratching post (for example, a set for a MAGNOLIA XL) are a complete set of textiles for a specific model from another manufacturer - every bed, mat, and hammock in one color scheme you choose. You pick the fabric and the faux fur, and we sew a set fitted to your scratching post.
Made-to-measure pads with a cut-out are individually sewn mats, with a cut-out for a post or another part of the structure. Working from your measurements or a photo, we prepare a pad that fits your scratching post platform perfectly, even if it's an unusual shape.
How to order a cover for another brand's scratching post
Ordering a scratching post cover means giving us the measurements, or sending a photo of the part you want to replace. We use that to prepare a product fitted to your specific model.
At order stage, you tell us: the platform's dimensions (length × width, or diameter), the shape (round, square, rectangular, with a cut-out), the type of product (flat mat, raised-edge bed, hammock) and your choice of fabric or faux fur from the PRASKA collections. If you're not sure of the measurements, a photo of the part with a tape measure next to it is enough - we'll use that to put together a quote.
Why PRASKA fabric instead of the original covers?
PRASKA scratching post covers are sewn from the same certified upholstery fabric we use in our own beds, caves, and sensory mats. These fabrics resist pilling and abrasion, with a silicone fiberfill that doesn't flatten after washing at 86°F (30°C).
The original textiles on many mass-market scratching posts are sewn from thin materials that wear out within months. PRASKA covers, in upholstery fabric and premium faux fur, hold up longer - and give your cat a softer, more comfortable surface to rest and scratch horizontally on.
An added benefit: you can choose the fabric color from PRASKA's collections (FOREST, GARDEN, LOVE, AQUA, PATCHWORK, ORCHARD), matching the scratching post to your interior. An old scratching post looks like a new piece of furniture.
Do PRASKA covers fit other brands' scratching posts?
Yes. We sew covers for other manufacturers' scratching posts based on your measurements or photos. Velcro mats, beds, and hammocks are available in standard sizes as well as made-to-measure.
How do I order a cover for another brand's scratching post?
Give us the platform's dimensions (length × width, or diameter) and its shape, choose the type of product (mat, bed, hammock) and the fabric. If you don't know the measurements, send a photo of the part with a tape measure - we'll put together a quote.
How are PRASKA covers different from the originals?
We sew them from certified, pilling-resistant upholstery fabric and premium faux fur. The silicone fiberfill doesn't flatten after washing at 86°F (30°C). The original textiles on many mass-market scratching posts wear out faster.
Is it worth replacing the textiles instead of buying a new scratching post?
Yes, as long as the structure (posts, platforms, base) is still solid. Replacing the textiles costs less than a new scratching post and is less stressful for your cat - the structure and the smell stay familiar.
What's the velcro on the underside of the bed for?
The velcro fixes the bed or mat to the scratching post's platform. It stops the bed shifting when your cat jumps or moves around on it - your cat lands on a stable surface, which builds their confidence in the piece.
Can I order a full set of textiles for the whole scratching post?
Yes. We sew full sets of beds, mats, and hammocks for specific scratching post models - every piece in one color scheme you choose. For example, a full set for a MAGNOLIA XL scratching post.
How long does a made-to-measure order take?
Scratching post covers are sewn to individual order. Lead time depends on how complex the order is - we confirm the details once we've received your measurements or photos.
Can I choose the color of the cover?
Yes. Scratching post covers are available in PRASKA's color collections: FOREST, GARDEN, LOVE, AQUA, PATCHWORK, ORCHARD. You choose the fabric and faux fur color at order stage.
