PRASKA cat wall shelves

PRASKA cat shelves are a modular system of wall platforms, steps, hammocks, and walkways in plywood, covered with non-slip felt that gives a cat grip while jumping, resting, and scratching horizontally. Made in Poland, designed from more than 14 years of observing pedigree cats in a cattery. Every shelf has holes that let you extend the route - you can combine it with further shelves, bridges and hammocks, branches, and wall scratchers with trees, building a route matched to the size of your home and the number of cats.

Types of PRASKA wall shelf

This category includes individual wall shelves and pieces you use to build your own route. If you're after a ready-made configuration, see the wall shelf sets, where the spacing is already worked out.

  • Shelves with a bed - (SOLO, STOKROTKA SOLO, CLASSIC Shelf, OVALREST, OVALSLEEP, ShelfSoft, WALLSLEEP) are plywood platforms with somewhere to rest - a bed, a nest, or a hammock. They do double duty: a point on a climbing route, and a place to sleep up high. Sizes from 19.7×9.8 in (50×25 cm) to 29.5×13.8 in (75×35 cm).
  • Shelves with a scratcher - (LEVEL, OVALSLEEP with a scratcher, WALLSLEEP with a scratcher) combine a platform to lie on with a vertical scratching surface. A cat can rest, scratch, and watch their surroundings in one spot.
  • Steps and walkways - (STEP 9×7.9 in / 23×20 cm, STEP OVAL 11.8×7.9 in / 30×20 cm, a walkway-scratcher) are route pieces that connect shelves at different heights. They let a cat move from one platform to another, or get onto the route from a piece of furniture.
  • Bridges and hammocks - (CONNECT 27.6×15 in / 70×38 cm, hammocks for the SHELF, SOLO, and WALLSLEEP shelves) connect 2 shelves with a horizontal crossing, or add an extra resting spot underneath a platform.

Why felt on the shelves?

The surface of a cat shelf needs to give a cat's paws grip while jumping, landing, and resting. Bare plywood is slippery - a cat whose paws slide loses their sense of control and gives up on the shelf. Felt on PRASKA shelves solves that: it gives grip, while also working as a natural surface for horizontal scratching and a comfortable spot to rest. The felt is replaceable - once it wears out, you can order a new piece and stick it on yourself.

How to plan a route from wall shelves?

The first cat shelf should be reachable from a piece of furniture - a couch, a dresser, or a standing scratching post. Every shelf after that should give a cat a choice: to carry on, or to turn back. In a multi-cat household, every route should have at least 2 exits, so no cat gets blocked on a dead-end shelf.

Where should I start if I don't know which cat shelves to choose?

With one shelf that has a bed (such as SOLO or OVALREST) and a step to get onto it. Watch how your cat uses them, then build the route out with further pieces. PRASKA shelves have holes that let you attach new modules.

Will wall shelves hold up a large cat?

Yes. PRASKA shelves are designed with a large margin on weight capacity. They're tested in Maine Coon and other large-breed catteries, with cats weighing 18-22 lbs. Once properly installed, a shelf shouldn't flex or make noise when a cat jumps.

What's the difference between individual shelves and sets?

Individual cat shelves in this category are bought separately, and you lay out the route yourself. Shelf sets are ready-made configurations with the spacing and pieces already worked out - to install without designing the route yourself.

Can I combine different shelf models with each other?

Yes. PRASKA systems are modular - shelves from the SOLO, STOKROTKA, CLASSIC, OVAL, and WALLSLEEP series can be combined with steps, walkways, bridges, hammocks, and branches. Mounting holes let you extend the route in any direction.

How do I mount a cat shelf on the wall?

Every PRASKA shelf comes with a full set of fixings. Installation needs a drill and wall anchors matched to your wall type (concrete, brick, drywall). Once properly installed, the structure is stable and doesn't shake during everyday use.

Can the felt on the shelves be replaced?

Yes. The felt on PRASKA shelves is self-adhesive and replaceable. Felt is available in sizes matched to every shelf model - from 7.9×9 in (20×23 cm) to 29.5×13.8 in (75×35 cm). Replacing it means peeling off the old felt and sticking on the new piece.

How many shelves does one cat need?

A minimum of 2-3 pieces forming a route with an entrance and an exit. In a multi-cat household, allow 1-2 spots at different heights per cat.
