This page brings together the PRASKA soft goods built around fruit-tree appliqués, along with the plywood they sit on. CAT CAB ORCHARD is a tipi-shaped cave with a tree, leaves and fruit sewn on by hand: 20 in (50 cm) across the base, 23 in (58 cm) tall. The ORCHARD nest is an enclosed bed in two diameters, 18 in (45 cm) and 20 in (50 cm), with a removable double-sided cushion, plush on one face and fabric on the other. The ORCHARD sensory mat measures 24 in (60 cm) across and either drops into the ARENA or lies on the floor on its own.

Plywood and fabric are chosen separately

Wood and textile are two independent decisions. On KOKARDKAORCHARD you pick one of eight plywood colors: Natural, White, Pastel Green, Green, Blue, Gray, Brown and Black. The bare ARENA is sold as its own product with the same eight colors, and the soft covers and mats are added to it afterwards. That way you can begin with one piece and build the set up over time.

The KOKARDKA scratcher and its parts

KOKARDKA ORCHARD does three jobs in one shape: a scratching surface, a bed and a toy. It measures 27 x 13 x 10 in (68 x 32 x 25 cm), and we recommend it for kittens and smaller cats, up to 14 lbs (6.5 kg). The frame is modular hardwood plywood, hand-sanded and painted three times, and it goes together in your hands, without screws, nails or hinges.

The scratching surface is self-adhesive felt, two sheets in the set, and the 10 x 10 in (25 x 25 cm) bed carries a sewn fruit appliqué and ties finished with small pears. When the felt wears through you replace it with the self-adhesive felt made for the KOKARDKA scratcher, and the bed itself has its own listing.

ARENA and the hanging toys

ARENA is a modular plywood structure, 24 in (60 cm) across and 18 in (45 cm) from the platform to the top, without a single metal part anywhere in it. Its walls carry openings for hanging toys, and this page offers four: a BIMBAM pear, a BIMBAM apple, a bird and Harry the spider. Each one also works as a hanging detail on other PRASKA pieces.

How is the ORCHARD sensory mat different from a nest?

The mat is flat and 24 in (60 cm) across, so it either lies on the floor or drops into the ARENA. It carries hand-sewn appliqués of a tree, apples, a pear and autumn leaves, with a chiming ball hidden inside one of the apples and a loop at the center for tying on another toy. A nest has raised, enclosing walls and is mainly a place to sleep.

How big a cat is KOKARDKA ORCHARD meant for?

Kittens and smaller cats, up to about 14 lbs (6.5 kg). The frame is 27 x 13 x 10 in (68 x 32 x 25 cm) and the bed on top is 10 x 10 in (25 x 25 cm). For a larger cat, the 24 in (60 cm) ARENA gives more room.

How do I wash the textile pieces?

Machine wash at up to 86°F (30°C), spin up to 800 rpm, no bleach. Don't tumble dry or iron the sensory mat. Reshape the cave and the nest by hand after washing so they return to their form. Both have a removable cushion, so day to day you can freshen the cushion on its own.

Do I choose the plywood color myself?

Yes. On KOKARDKA ORCHARD and on the bare ARENA you pick one of eight colors: Natural, White, Pastel Green, Green, Blue, Gray, Brown, Black. Fabric and plywood are ordered independently of each other.

Can CAT CAB ORCHARD be hung up?

Yes. It has strong 24 in (60 cm) ties, so it can hang from a PRASKA tree, stand on a plywood base, or be used free-standing. The entrance is wide, and the removable double-sided cushion keeps it easy to freshen.
