Wall Scratching Posts

Scratching posts you mount on the wall

PRASKA wall scratching posts come in two forms, TRUNK and LEAF, with a scratching surface of felt or sisal rope. You mount them so your cat can stretch its whole body while scratching, and the floor stays clear. Each one works on its own or as part of a cat wall with shelves and branches. Every piece is handmade in Poland from hardwood plywood.

How a wall scratching post works

Scratching is a natural need for a cat. It lets your cat stretch, look after its claws and release tension. A post mounted on the wall gives it a place to do this without taking up floor space. The models in this category are 37.4 to 47.2 in (95 to 120 cm) tall, so your cat can stretch out fully while scratching.

Models in this category

The posts come in two forms: TRUNK, inspired by a tree trunk, and LEAF, shaped like a leaf. Their dimensions are below.

Model Height Width Scratching surface
TRUNK 96 cm with felt 37.8 in (96 cm) 11.4 in (29 cm) felt 26 × 7.1 in (66 × 18 cm)
TRUNK 120 cm with felt 47.2 in (120 cm) 13.8 in (35 cm) felt 32.3 × 8.7 in (82 × 22 cm)
TRUNK with sisal rope 37.4 in (95 cm) 12.6 in (32 cm) sisal rope
LEAF 100 cm with felt 39.4 in (100 cm) 19.7 in (50 cm) felt 31.5 × 11 in (80 × 28 cm)
LEAF with sisal rope 39.4 in (100 cm) 20.5 in (52 cm) 22.8 × 11 in (58 × 28 cm), sisal rope and felt

TRUNK and LEAF

TRUNK takes the form of a tree trunk, with grooves milled into the plywood to echo its structure. LEAF is shaped like a leaf and works as a decorative piece as well as a scratching post. Both are made from natural hardwood plywood, so the wood grain is visible and the tone can vary slightly from piece to piece.

Felt or sisal rope

TRUNK 96 cm, TRUNK 120 cm and LEAF 100 cm have a felt scratching surface. It is a heavy-duty felt, close to industrial felt, that stands up to intensive scratching and is firmly attached to 0.6 in (15 mm) plywood. The TRUNK and LEAF versions with sisal rope combine plywood with durable sisal rope.

The right size for your cat

We designed TRUNK 96 cm for smaller cats up to 13 lbs (6 kg) and for smaller spaces. TRUNK 120 cm and LEAF 100 cm were made with large cats in mind, such as Maine Coons and Ragdolls.

Installation

The posts mount on the wall. The felt models come with wall anchors, Fischer screws and installation instructions. The mounting system is concealed, so no screws or brackets are visible.

Plywood color

Choose natural plywood or one of the available colors to match the post to your home.

Part of a cat wall

A post can stand on its own or become part of a larger PRASKA system. Add it to cat wall shelves and branches, and over time build a full wall-mounted cat tree or climbing route. Wall bridges and hammocks fit the same system.

Care and felt replacement

Wipe the plywood with a damp cloth. Wood care products are fine, but avoid anything containing chlorine. Clean the felt gently, without soaking it. When the felt wears out, remove it and replace it with a new one, without replacing the whole post. Self-adhesive pads are in Self-Adhesive Replacement Felt.

Why cats scratch and how to choose a post that suits their nature

A cat does not scratch the sofa out of spite. Izabela explains what makes a good scratching post and why stability matters more than looks.

How high should I mount a wall scratching post?

High enough for your cat to stretch its whole body while scratching. The posts in this category are 37.4 to 47.2 in (95 to 120 cm) tall. You can mount a post on its own or build it into a layout with shelves and other climbing pieces.

Is a wall scratching post suitable for a large cat, such as a Maine Coon?

Yes. We designed TRUNK 120 cm and LEAF 100 cm with large cats in mind, such as Maine Coons and Ragdolls. TRUNK 96 cm is meant for smaller cats up to 13 lbs (6 kg).

What is included, and how is it installed?

The felt models include the plywood body, two felt pads, wall anchors, Fischer screws and installation instructions. The mounting system is concealed. If you have any questions, send us a message.

What is the difference between felt and sisal rope?

They are two different scratching surfaces. The felt on TRUNK 96 cm, TRUNK 120 cm and LEAF 100 cm is close to industrial felt and stands up to intensive scratching. Sisal rope is used on the TRUNK and LEAF versions with sisal. The surface comes with the model, so you choose it when you choose the post.

Can I replace worn felt?

Yes. Remove the worn felt and stick on a new pad, without replacing the whole post. Felt pads for TRUNK 96 cm, TRUNK 120 cm and LEAF 100 cm are in Self-Adhesive Replacement Felt.

Can a wall scratching post be combined with wall shelves?

Yes. TRUNK and LEAF work on their own or as part of a larger wall system with PRASKA shelves and branches. Over time you can expand them into a full wall-mounted cat tree or climbing route.

Can I choose the color?

Yes. You choose the plywood color when you order: natural or one of the colors offered in the product variants. The plywood is natural, so the grain and tone can vary slightly from piece to piece.
