Three layers of protection

You protect the floor of a queening box or a cat cave in three ways, depending on what has to be possible after a litter.

• The waterproof mat - a double-sided pad. One side is soft fur, the other a waterproof fabric that keeps damp and dirt off the floor. Both layers are quilted.
• The plexiglass insert - a transparent sheet for the floor. A wipe-clean pad for a cat bed, a cave or a box, ready for washing down and disinfecting.
• The replacement cushion and the cover - the layer the cat lies on. It comes off for the machine and goes back on.

Which models they fit

The mats and inserts are cut for a specific model, not made in universal sizes.

Waterproof mats exist for the LADY, MADAME and PRINCESS boxes, for the QUEEN box, for ARENA and ARENA XXL, for the BONBON cave and for the BABY BORN cave at 27.6 in (70 cm) across. The BABY BORN version also comes with terrace protection. For ARENA and ARENA XXL there is additionally the ANANAS (pineapple) mat, with fur.

The plexiglass insert for the QUEEN box measures 28.3 × 19.7 × 2 in (72 × 50 × 5 cm), and the plexi insert for a cat cave or for the LADY, PRINCESS and MADAME boxes measures 24.4 × 16.5 × 2 in (62 × 42 × 5 cm). For the BABY BORN cave at 27.6 in (70 cm) across there is the START insert, with a choice of fur.

What goes in the machine and what gets wiped

The waterproof mat for LADY, MADAME and PRINCESS is 26.4 × 19.7 in (67 × 50 cm) and 0.6 in (1.5 cm) thick, 100% polyester. The mats wash at up to 104 °F (40 °C), spin up to 1000 rpm. Do not tumble dry, do not iron. The mat dries quickly.

The plexiglass insert does not go in the machine. You wash it down and disinfect it, because the surface is transparent and smooth. Do not use a stiff brush, as that scratches the plexiglass.

Replacement cushions, covers and fur inserts wash at up to 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm.

Replacement cushions and covers

The ANANAS cushion fits beds and caves from 15.7 to 27.6 in (40 to 70 cm) across, in sizes 15.7, 17.7, 19.7, 23.6 and 27.6 in (40, 45, 50, 60 and 70 cm), about 1.6 in (4 cm) thick. The middle layer is a silicone wadding made specially for PRASKA, the fur is 100% polyester. Machine washable at 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm, no chlorine. Separate versions are assigned to the BABY BORN cave at 27.6 in (70 cm) across and to the BONBON cave.

Beyond that there are rectangular cushions of 19.7 × 13.8 in (50 × 35 cm) and 29.5 × 13.8 in (75 × 35 cm), and the FUR, FUR OVAL and PUFFY cushions, with a choice of size, fabric or fur.

The cover for the CHMURA (cloud) bed is a circle of 25.6 in (65 cm) or 33.5 in (85 cm) across and 7.1 in (18 cm) thick, 100% polyester. The zipper is sewn into the underside and hidden. You take the insert out before washing and put it back afterward. Machine washable at 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm, no bleach.

There are also covers for the low and the high anti-stress pouf, with a choice of fabric or fur. That is the way to keep a bed clean without replacing the whole seat.

How does a waterproof mat differ from a plexiglass insert?

In material and in how you clean it. The mat is textile and double-sided: fur on one face, waterproof fabric on the other, and it goes in the machine at up to 104 °F (40 °C). The plexiglass insert is a transparent, rigid sheet for the floor, which you never wash in a machine; you wash it down and disinfect it.

Which plexiglass insert fits which box?

The 28.3 × 19.7 × 2 in (72 × 50 × 5 cm) insert fits the QUEEN box, and the 24.4 × 16.5 × 2 in (62 × 42 × 5 cm) insert fits the LADY, PRINCESS and MADAME boxes. Both are transparent. The only limit on cleaning is a stiff brush, which leaves scratches on plexiglass.

Will a replacement cushion fit a cave I already own?

If the cave or the bed measures between 15.7 and 27.6 in (40 and 70 cm) across, yes. The ANANAS cushion comes in sizes 15.7, 17.7, 19.7, 23.6 and 27.6 in (40, 45, 50, 60 and 70 cm) and is about 1.6 in (4 cm) thick. For the BABY BORN cave at 27.6 in (70 cm) across and for the BONBON cave there are versions assigned to the model.

How do I take the CHMURA cover off and put it back?

The zipper is sewn into the underside of the cover and hidden. You open it, lift the insert out, wash the cover on its own at up to 86 °F (30 °C), spin up to 800 rpm, and once it is dry you put the insert back and close the zipper. The cover comes in a 25.6 in (65 cm) and a 33.5 in (85 cm) version.

For a cattery, mat or plexiglass insert?

Usually both, in two layers. The plexiglass insert goes on the floor, because it washes down and can be disinfected. The waterproof mat goes on top of it, because it gives the queen a soft surface and keeps damp off the floor. After a litter you wash the insert down and put the mat in the machine. That two-layer build is the hygiene liner for a cattery.
