Sensory Cat Playgrounds
A sensory cat playground is a round mat with sewn-on textures, set on a plywood base. The cat scratches, tracks, pulls and listens in one place.
The range runs from a single sensory mat to ARENA, which is an open play base without its cover and a closed cave with it. Most pieces are made after your order comes in, in our workshop in Czechowice-Dziedzice, southern Poland.

What this category holds
The products here fall into several families. Each takes a different part of the play.
- ARENA and ARENA XXL - a plywood base with a sensory mat, in the FOREST, GARDEN, AQUA, LOVE, SAD, NOC (night), DZIEŃ (day) and ANANAS (pineapple) versions. A playground without the cover, a closed cave with it.
- Sensory mats - the FOREST, GARDEN, AQUA, AQUA XXL and SAD mats, LOVE NATURAL, CATLANDIA, CATLANDIA B, TWIST, and AQUA DELUXE XXL and LOVE DELUXE XXL. They lie on the floor or on the ARENA platform.
- Scratchers with a play zone - KOKARDKA (bow), KOKARDKA SAD, KOKARDKA PLAY, BABYSITTER, HOME, and ELF with the M ramp.
- Beds and covers - the CHMURKA (little cloud) lounger with its bed set, the tall nest for ARENA, and covers for ARENA and ARENA XXL, all sold separately.
- Sensory toys - hanging toys and leaves that you tie to the loops on the mat.
What the sensory layer actually is
The pieces on the mat are sewn on, and they differ in texture and in sound. Rustling boughs, sewn-on grasses, a reed with cattails, ribbons finished with sleeves and small bells, a leaf with a ball inside, and a bird filled with valerian and buckwheat husk.
There is a loop on the mat. You tie another toy to it and change the layout once the cat stops checking the same spot.
ARENA: playground and cave
The cover comes off in one movement. Without it you have an open platform with the mat; with it, an enclosed place to sleep.
- Internal diameter 23.6 in (60 cm), height 17.7 in (45 cm) from the platform to the top, entrance 9.4 × 9.4 in (24 × 24 cm).
- Supplied with the plywood structure, the cover, a double-sided fur mat on ties, and a hanging sensory toy matched to the colors of the set.
- Assembly and disassembly without tools. The structure has no screws, no nails, no hinges and no metal parts.
The 9.4 × 9.4 in (24 × 24 cm) entrance is wide enough for large breeds to use the cave. There is also a nest insert for ARENA if the cave is meant for a queen and her litter.
Plywood, fabric and care
The structures are cut from plywood, sanded by hand and painted three times. Knots and grain stay visible; we do not hide them.
The mats and covers are sewn from a fabric that resists pilling and abrasion, 100% polyester. The filling is a silicone wadding made specially for PRASKA.
Wipe the plywood with a damp cloth, without chlorine. Mats and covers are machine washable at 86 °F (30 °C) or below, spin up to 800 rpm, no tumble drying and no ironing. A mat fits into a household machine easily.
Kittens, adult cats and litters
The mat sits on the floor and needs no climbing, so a kitten playground and a play spot for an adult cat are the same product here. The KOKARDKA scratcher is intended for kittens and smaller cats up to 14.3 lbs (6.5 kg), and BABYSITTER fits inside a kitten playpen and doubles as a seat for the breeder while tending a litter.
ARENA was designed out of hands-on practice in a pedigree cattery.
How is a sensory mat different from an ordinary bed?
A bed is a soft surface to lie on. A sensory mat has sewn-on pieces in different textures, rustling elements, ribbons with sleeves and small bells, and a loop for hanging a toy. A cat does lie on it, but mostly it works on it.
Does the playground need tools to put together?
No. The ARENA structure goes together and comes apart by hand, with no screws, nails or hinges, and no metal parts inside it. Sensory mats simply lie on the floor or on the ARENA platform.
Which cats is this range for?
The mats and ARENA sit on the floor, so kittens and adult cats both use them. The ARENA entrance measures 9.4 × 9.4 in (24 × 24 cm), which is enough for large breeds as well. The KOKARDKA scratcher is intended for kittens and smaller cats up to 14.3 lbs (6.5 kg).
